What’s Included
Welcome Party
On Sunday night prior to camp, all participants meet up at the Mammoth Mountain Inn to register and pick up their camp information packet. Your packet includes a detailed camp schedule, camp discount card, and your banquet ticket. This will also be your first opportunity to buy raffle tickets. But we keep it fun too! We’ll have complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. You’ll have your first opportunity to socialize with your fellow campers and meet the instructors too.
Wednessday Afternoon Happy Hour
On Wednesday afternoon following camp, return to Main Lodge for a camp happy hour from 3:30 to 5:30 at Tusk’s bar, at the West end of Main Lodge, 3rd floor, directly above the cafeteria. All camp participants and instructors are welcome. See your fellow campers off the slopes, relax, and have some fun. Complimentary appetizers will be provided and we’ll have a cash bar available.
Farewell Banquet - December camp only
Join your fellow campers for one last evening of fun at the Mountain Conference Center. Sit with your group. We’ll have a full meal ready for you and a cash bar. We’ll hand out awards from the day’s race.
Finally, we’ll hold our annual raffle, benefitting Eastern Sierra Disabled Sports. We’ll raffle off prizes donated by local businesses and Mammoth Mountain. We’ll have prizes like skis and gear from local shops, demos and ski tunes, ski lessons, fun local activities like snowmobiling and cross country skiing. The grand prize is a package for next year’s camp! You can purchase tickets at camp registration or during the banquet. You don’t need to be at the banquet to win, but your ticket does need to be presented in order to claim the prize.
Video
Your group will have 1 or 2 sessions of video feedback with your instructor. This is a great opportunity to actually see what you look like when you’re skiing. You’ll go over where you excel, where you’ve improved, and what you can do better going forward. Video analysis allows you to view your skiing in detail, so you can focus on specifics you may not notice in real time. This gives a wonderful new perspective for any skier, whether they’ve been skiing for decades or are just learning the basics.
Thursday Optional Racing - December camp only
All camp participants have the opportunity to participate in timed racing on the final day of instruction. You’ll put everything you’ve learned over the past week to the test, no matter which program you were in. Just like the rest of camp, racing is meant to be FUN for everyone at all experience levels, and it is entirely optional. Let your instructor know if you’re interested in participating and we’ll make sure you make it to the starting gate.
