Snowboarding

Popular culture would have you believe snowboarders learn their skills first thing when they hop onto their board, but we know that’s not how it works in the real world. Like any sport, you need to devote time and effort to improving. With 5 days of on snow attention from your instructor, you’ll get to the next level in record time.

Please note groups will have 5 to 8 participants, and you will be grouped according to your ability level. If your group has less than 4 participants, the participants will only receive 3 hours of lessons per day. If you find your abilities do not mesh with your group’s, do not hesitate to let your instructor know as soon as possible. He or she will work with you to find a better group. Remember, this is your camp, and we want you to have fun and grow as a skier as much as possible!

Not sure which program is right for you? Don’t worry, you’ve got time to decide. Simply select the program you think best suits you. You have up until the evening before camp starts to finalize your selection, so just let us know if you change your mind.

Please keep in mind that while we work with Mammoth Mountain to give you the best conditions possible, skiing is a sport at the mercy of mother nature. From time to time, we may need to alter the schedule to account for new snow, warm temperatures, or whatever else comes our way. In the event we get a storm that brings us the fluffy white stuff, we won’t be able to set gates until the snow firms up. However, if the lifts are running we’ll be out there ready for you. Whenever we are forced to change the scheduled program you’ll be fully informed and we’ll do all we can to make sure you have a great time no matter what.

Video: Your group will have 2 sessions of video feedback with your instructor (weather permitting). This is a great opportunity to actually see what you look like when you’re skiing. You’ll go over where you excel, where you’ve improved, and what you can do better going forward. Video analysis allows you to view your skiing in detail, so you can focus on specifics you may not notice in real time. This gives a wonderful new perspective for any skier, whether they’ve been skiing for decades or are just learning the basics.

Thursday optional racing: All camp participants have the opportunity to participate in timed racing on the final day of instruction. The racing is absolutely optional, but many have found it to be a highlight of camp. Just like the rest of camp, this activity is meant to be FUN for everyone at all experience levels.  Please note: the holding of this race is subject to weather conditions and/or snow base;  If the race can not be safely held, it may be cancelled.
